Porter-Pottie

Delia had her 18 month check up a week ago.... yeah we were a little late on the scheduling (like 3 months) but hey...... we were switching insurances. So, anyways the doctor asked if she was showing interest in pottie training yet, um.. yeah! I told him I can't keep her clothes on because she thinks she needs to try like 50xs a day. I was nipping it in the bud and putting onsies on her, because I'm pretty sure she (I'm) not ready to start. The medically certified caregiver told me I should applaude her interest and begin the war. So now Eden and Delia hang out in the bathroom for at least an hour each day. Aren't doctors wonderful. I'm pretty sure he laughed histaricly after he left our room having told me to start pottie training my 20 month old and thinking of the crazy days I would have ahead. Love it.

i'm totally putting a pink recorder in the bathroom. how fun is that?

and re: the peonies in the previous post . . . they are absolutely gorgeous. this must be a better time of year for them than may was. they opened and wilted so fast in the heat, but they are one of my all-time very favorites.

your dr. smokes crack...are you kidding me? hey, if you can make it work without pulling your hair out that is so awsome. i'm sure you are way more patient than i am.

i waited till they potty trained thamselves (no work for me) and there were no accidents. i saw other moms "potty training" their children and thought, "who's really being trained?" hahahaha!

they do look super cute on their potties.

good luck with that girl, i know you can do it. you've done it before.

haha good luck! I wish my little one would try. We actually gave it a shot a month or so ago, but he was so scared of the potty it wasn't even funny.

Ah crap. Do they really want all kids to start potty training at 18ish months, or just really smart kids? If by showing interest they mean does your kid constantly unroll the toilet paper and throw everything including the phone into the toilet, well then yes, but as for what really is to go on in there.... really, now? Way to go. And, I concur with Stephanie, recorders in the bathroom are a fun idea, when else should you practice?

As for cousin party that got hi-jacked by Melvie, yes, it's still on, I think 7 or 7:30 (maybe ask your dad what time my mom told him because she can't remember) and it is definately still awesomely awful type of gift exchange. Would you make sure Reid knows that too? Thanks!

Haha! It's worth a shot, eh? Let 'er try until she starts hating it, or until you start going nuts ;)

My cue to nix the training idea for now was when (diaper-less)Shyre walked into the bathroom & tried to hand me a piece of poo, saying "Eeeew." -yikes!
