noses :)

I LOVE being a Mom!! Why you ask.... well there is the standard answer.. it's fulfilling, I love kids.....well, I love being a Mom because my kids are out of control.

So, there we were a normal day of going to the grocery in the afternoon. I load the kids up and we pull into the Albertson's parking lot and Eden says to me
"Where's my bean?"
So, I'm thinking "where's my bean? What do you mean? Where's my bean" I turn around and say
"What?!"
and she responds..."Where's my bean?I put it in my nose..!"

As a Mother I'm like of course you did. It's 111 degrees outside can I please just go to the store and get this done?!

"You put it in your nose?"
"Uh... Yeah!" and she's frantic now.

So then I reminesed(sp?) about all the times at Grandma Jones' during my childhood that one of the cousins put something up their nose. I LOVE IT!!! popcorn, a smartie, a tic-tac.... why do we feel compelled to put things up our noses and HOW?! did Eden find a pinto bean in the car and then think... "I'll put this up my nose."

Story short.... she sneezed and it came out and we were spared the hundreds in medical bills.
And now Eden will tell you to NEVER, NEVER put anything in your nose.

Sorry, you forgot when our cousin Alyson put a dime or nickel up her nose? And it is reminisce.

Yeah, I put a dime up my nose, it got stuck, so my mom took me to my dad's office. He leaned me back in his chair to take a look, and what do you know, it slid back through my nasal passage or whatever, and went down my throat, and I swallowed it. YUCK!! I'm embarrassed to admit that I was like 11 yrs. old too. I don't know why we all have that fascination. I'm glad Eden's worked out so well! Fun days as a mom!

I am just waiting for a trinket in the nose incident at our house. In the mean time, I'm very amused by yours. So thanks Eden.

Oh how I laughed. Good blog, and no need for pictures whatsoever because I might get grossed out at bean in nose pictures and I liked to imagine it. Anyways, I love your life and as always, your adorable girlies.
P.S. Did you get the smarties out of the cool room? I don't remember having those at all. Just popcorn and stale licorice.
By the way, we're thinking next weekend for the fridge and stove...you down? Like perhaps Friday or Saturday, the 6th or 7th? And sorry I didn't call you back. Anyways, let me know if that works for you and what your schedules are that day.

Have a fabulous day with your fabulous and utterly hilarious little family!

Or do you remember, was it Rachel or Trever that got the remote control car antenna stuck in her/his nose and it hooked over the septum and was for reals stuck.I don't remember how it came out. You must be super healthy if you have random pinto beans in your car for the kids to snack on.

Hey Amanda! long time no see. I just started a blog and found you as I was browsing through blogs. It's so fun to find people I thought I'd never hear about again. Funny story about your little girl! I think one time one of my sisters got bubble gum stuck up her nose and my mom didn't find out about it until she was emitting a strange odor and she couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Gross! Well, you have such a cute family. and you take the best pictures! What a fun job you have, I love looking at all the pictures on Darby's website! take care :)

Ha Ha Ha Ha! Sorry to laugh so hard at your expense. Way to go Eden! Q~ Where do kids come up with this stuff? A(with a very serious face)~Children watch their parents! Watch yourself when you sew and not put pins in your mouth. Amanda, you're a fun mom and a funny girl.

That's so so funny!! At least you have small noses & just little things like beans get stuck. Us dixons could get like a football, a small vehicle or a entire BAG of groceries up in there.

Anyhoo...yes, yes, that would be so fun to see you at a friday-jones-get together! I just emailed mel, 'cause i had stuff today...but hopefully sometime in the future...it'd be a fun time had by all, i reckon.

My daughter Kathleen said once that she had "treasure in my nose". It took me a couple of minutes to realize that she had shoved a bead up her nose. I took her to the doctor, and while we were waiting for the dr. she sneezed and it flew across the room. I sheepishly told the nurse we would be leaving. She seemed surprised that we did not want to see the doctor. (from Sarah Sykes mom)

I was about to send the same story as my Mom above, but she beat me to it! Thanks for the great story Eden!
